Unity of Oak Park delivered to create a fun and spirited experience for the community at our 4th Annual Trunk or Treat event.
From a farm-themed barnyard to a dog's delight and spooky spider webs. The trunks were decorated so creatively by our congregants and community partners.
Families and children in the community came out in costume and went from trunk to trunk to receive treats and sweets. The row of trunks concluded with a Unity-sponsored craft table to decorate pumpkins and color Halloween-themed pages to bring home.
Our talented face painter was a hit—helping children finish off their costumes just right with colorful masks, glitter, and gore.
Many people stayed around to walk through the meditation garden, jump in the leaves, or just listen to Halloween music as they enjoyed their treats under the beautiful Fall Canopy.
Taking place every year on the Sunday before Halloween, Unity's Trunk or Treat has become a fun tradition for families in our community and neighboring communities to get into the Halloween Spirit with a fun, creative, and spirited afternoon together!
A warm THANK YOU to all the members of Unity of Oak Park who made this possible by donating candy, decorating their trunks, and donating funds to make this such a special afternoon for children and families.
"We love your event and come every year" said one participant. "It's the perfect way for my son who is on the spectrum to be around other kids and get a taste of the fun of Trick or Treating in a way that is not too overwhelming or triggering for him."
