Rev Ev G. Godina, is a community-builder, who imagines a world of wonder where we can all celebrate, create, and contribute our unique gifts without fear. Rev. Ev’s ministry The Power of Wonder was shaped by his personal and professional experience working with adversity, violence, and fear.  Oprah Winfrey shares in order to master anything we must invest thousands of hours on our practice.  My practice over the forty years has been The Power of Wonder, the ability to dream and create beyond life’s limitations.

Ordained Unity Minister

Rev. Lindsay Ambrose is the Community Director at Unity of Oak Park, focusing on communications, events, and community building. As an Ordained Unity Minister, she officiates ceremonies, leads classes, and provides spiritual support. A certified group facilitator and birth doula, Lindsay aims to help parents foster nurturing homes. She authored the book Peaceful Mama and the upcoming The Nurture Method. Lindsay resides in Oak Park, IL, with her family, drawing inspiration from nature and seeking adventures. Visit LindsayAmbrose.com.

Exciting News About Our Outreach Teams!

 

We have an amazing team of outreach volunteers dedicated to serving families in transition within our vibrant community! Every first Sunday of the month, our fantastic community members come together to prepare meals for the unhoused for Housing Forward, led by Susan Doyle.

 

But that’s not all! We also host seasonal outreach events, like our back-to-school backpack drive and our joyful winter toy drive for Sarah's Inn, families who go through domestic violence.

This is a great team for people who love people or food.  Our hospitality team helps others feel at ease, with a smile, a hello, a tour or a cup of coffee. Our amazing Garden & Grounds Team is dedicated to creating breathtaking beauty that welcomes everyone before they even step through our doors! This hands-on service is all about nurturing our earth and environment throughout every season.

 

You don’t need to be an experienced gardener; all you need is a passion for the vibrant life of our plants, animals, bees, and community! It a fantastic opportunity to connect and make friends who share your values.

Juan Lorenz, Unity of Oak Park Music Director

Angel Lorenz, musical journey began in high school, but it was discovering Jazz in his Senior year that solidified his passion. He joined the Rav Jazz Mentor Program, where he played Saxophone and learned from top Chicago musicians like Willie Pickens and Pat Mallinger. The support from these mentors became a turning point for this South Side Chicago native, from Celaya, Guanajuato.

Join the Choir or Music  Team

Our Unity of Oak Park Choir and music team uplifts our community with their heart, sound, rhythm, and melodies.  Music reaches people in a way words alone cannot.  Our choir sings every Sunday with our music team led by Juan Lorenz our music director,  and rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7pm.

Whether someone sings, plays, helps plan concerts, supports the choir, or simply loves the arts, this team is about creativity and community.  If you're interested, please contact musicdirector@unityoakpark.org.

The Prayer & Care Tea, consists of Ministers, prayer chaplains, spiritual leaders and heart centered community members.  It is led

by Carl Nawrot our lead prayer chaplain.  Our prayer team members do blessings, lead educational programs and experiences.   To join our prayer and care team, click this link.

Our Pet Ministry led by Elizabeth Gonzalez Ramirez, Marilyn Joy & Kate Lewis, is held annualy to bless our unconditional furry family members who bring so much joy and love to our lives.  Families are welcome to bring them in person or a photo for a beautiful one of a kind blessing. 

 

The event is usually outside, with goodies for our pets, and information on how to spread love to our local animal shelters.  For more information on all of our pet blessings and gatherings, or if you are interested on joining our Pet Ministry Team, contact unity@unityoakpark.org.
