Adult Classes

Unity of Oak Park classes are open to all; you needn’t be a member to attend! You will learn about foundational Unity/Truth principles and beliefs. Taking classes at Unity of Oak Park will assist you in your everyday walk as well as with your spiritual journey. We call our teachings, "Practical Christianity," and it can help transform your life, while opening your heart to a richer experience of the God Presence within us all. Most classes are offered on a Responsible Giving Basis.

Coffee Hour
Join us in Friendship Hall after Sunday service for beverages, snacks and fellowship.  We welcome each congregant to sponsor a coffee hour one or two times a year.  Please sign up in Friendship Hall to sponsor a coffee hour.

Join us in Friendship Hall immediately following the service for a special Turkeyrama coffee hour and chance to win a free gift basket.  We will also have cake and coffee in honor of Rev. Jesse.

Town Hall Meeting
Sun., Dec. 1, from 11:00 am - Noon.
Congregants are invited to make our plans for moving forward and bringing in our new minister.  We will discuss developing a transitional leadership team.

Christmas Concert and Dinner
 Sun., Dec. 15, at 11:30 am
 Please join us as we celebrate the joys of the season with our Unity of Oak Park family.  The day will include an uplifting concert given by our musicians, choir and soloists followed by a bountiful dinner.  Please sign up at the Book Room desk if  you plan to attend.  Suggested Love Offering:  $15.00 for adults, $5.00 for children 5 - 12, children under 5 are free.
Christmas Extraordinaire Coffee Hour & Cookie Walk

Do you want homemade cookies for your Holiday gatherings, but you don’t have time to bake them yourself? We’ve got you covered!   Stop by Friendship Hall and fill a box with homemade cookies so you can enjoy more time with your friends and family this holiday season. Come early for the best selection. They make great hostess gifts too!  Cost: $12 per container.  Our holiday festivities on Dec. 22 will include food, fun, music and a free raffle for the kids!

Tai Chi for Health
Every First and Third Sunday, from 9:00 - 9:30 pm (no meeting on Dec. 15).
Often, tai chi is referred to as meditation in motion. It is one of the most effective exercises for the health of mind and body. Slow and gentle movements enable the qi or life force, to flow smoothly and powerfully throughout the body. Practice of tai chi results in harmony. Dr. Paul Lam, a family physician and a tai chi practitioner for more than 40 years developed a range of Tai Chi for Health programs. Sheila Swann-Guerrero, MS, CTRS became a certified instructor after attending Dr. Lam’s Instructor Training June 2018. Sheila brings her desire to serve UOP and passion for tai chi together to offer beginning Tai Chi. Please feel welcome to join us to learn and practice tai chi together.

Consciousness Club 
Every First Sunday, at 11:30 am. 
This club meets each month to inspire, support, and encourage those who wish to further develop a higher consciousness and fully live the promises of Truth.  Coordinated by Ron Johnson, LUT.

Sunday Morning Meditation
Every Second and Fourth Sunday, from 9:00 - 9:30 am.  Join us for time in the silence before the regular service to open our hearts and minds to the message Spirit has for each of us, we will also consciously move our combined Love and Light out into the world to be part of God’s plan for healing. Marilyn Joy will provide readings and guided meditations to move us closer to the Christ presence within. Please bring your energy, deepen your meditation practice and start your Sunday from the High Place.

Spirit of Wellness
Every Second Sunday, from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
This discussion group facilitated by Lori Kozon is based on Myrtle Fillmore’s proposition, “You have everything you need to enable you to do the many things you came into the world to do, but you need to let the Spirit of God take hold of your soul and set it to doing its perfect work in the body.” Tools that support your wellness as well as help you determine what naturally works best for your own body will be discussed. Guest speakers who are experts in innovative technologies and energetic practices will be included.

Prayer & Meditation Group
Every Monday, from 7:30 - 8:30 pm (no meeting on Dec. 30).
In prayer, we join in God's healing light, and send love and peace to the world.   After a guided meditation, we enter the silence and turn to our Christ within.  Facilitated by Mary Ann Provenza.

Board Meetings
Every Second Monday, at 6:00 pm.
Regular meetings of the Board of Trustees are held on the second Monday of the month at 6:00 pm.

Mindful Parents Group
Every Fourth Tuesday, from 6:00 - 7:30 pm (no meeting in December)
Unity of Oak Park partners with Book of Life Foundation to offer this group.  Through instruction, discussion, workshop, meditation and refection time, you’ll learn tools to be a more mindful parent.  See how becoming more aware of our thoughts, feelings, and environment through a gentle, nurturing lens can positively impact our families and communities.  Registration required.  You may register here.  

Silence in the Solarium
Every Thursday, from 11:30 am - Noon (but no meeting on Thanksgiving Day or Dec. 26)
Join us as we set aside a period of time during the week to reconnect our minds and hearts at this meditation service in the Solarium. Facilitated by Mary Ann Provenza.

Movie Night
Every other month on a Friday night, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm.  Join us for movies, popcorn and other refreshments.  Dec. 20 movie:  "An American Christmas Carol."
