Movie Night

Fri., May 9 and June 13 at 7 pm. The featured films on Movie Night are commercially released movies with inspirational, social, and empowering messages. The films will be shown on a big screen with state of the art audio followed by a lively group discussion facilitated by Jun Mhoon, LUT Candidate.

Unity Institute

Women and Men of Unity – Sat., May 10 and June 14 from 10 to 11:30 am. The topic under discussion is Unity prayer. A continental breakfast will be served. Facilitated by Bernie Thauland, LUT. All are welcome.

Town Hall Meeting – Sun., June 22, following the 11 am service. Join the Ministers and Board of Trustees for an Appreciative Inquiry Meeting which will be a time when our spiritual community can gather to focus on the strengths of Unity of Oak Park and all we have to be grateful for. Also, discovering and envisioning the pathway for our spiritual family will follow as we co-create our future. It is one that will unfold through divinely inspired and guided direction as we continue to walk the path of prayer and hold a vision of an unlimited good for Unity of Oak Park.

WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS

GREAT LAKES UNITY REGION LICENSED UNITY TEACHERS
SPRING WORKSHOP

Fri., May 2, (6 – 9 pm) and Sat., May 3, (8 am to 5 pm). All Licensed Unity Teachers, Licensed Unity Teacher Candidates, and Ministers are invited to this weekend: “Celebrating our Relationships as Spiritual Leaders.” Topics include heart-filled praying, speaking and writing techniques to create effortless results for Spiritual Leaders.

This event features some of our own Unity of Oak Park leaders as well as Shirley Kennedy, our Special Guest from the Association of Unity Churches International and our Licensed Unity Teacher Coordinator. Post Graduate Credits are available. This will be an enlightening, prosperous, energizing weekend! Chaplain Dedication – Sun., May 4, during the 11 am service.
We will welcome Liz Borbely as an incoming chaplain on Sun., May 4, during the 11 am service. We hold all in the high watch of prayer and ask for your prayers in return for continued spirituality in 2008.

CLASSES

Creative Dialogue Series – Wed., May 7, 14, 21, 28, June 4, 11, 18, 25, from 7:30 to 9 pm.
The Ministers desire to create an atmosphere of community through dialogue. We will meet on Wednesday nights during May and June from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in Friendship Hall to discuss the material taught on Sunday. We look forward to spending this time with our students and enjoy both inspirational insights and snacks. Hopefully, this will be a time of sharing and a deeper awareness of our Unity way of life. We thank you in advance for your participation of giving and receiving.

Trusting the Process of Change – Thurs, June 5, 12, 19, 26, July 10, 17, 24, from 9:30 to 11 am.
If you find yourself challenged by changes in your life, join us as we work together to discover the ways change moves us through periods of seeming darkness to new beginnings. We will use readings, guided meditations, journaling, and prayer as we explore the spiritual principles that help us trust the process of change. The class will meet in the Solarium and be facilitated by LUT candidate Sue Bryan.
